Probably high-end versions are value for money. I dont see any value for money component in a 4 lac rupee Indica with cheap plastics and performance. Vista diesel might be an exception when it comes to performance as it has a Fiat engine..

Nothing against Tata cars. Maruti and Hyundai aren't perfect either. This is just an informal survey that was provoked due to the negligible number of Tata cars at my work place. Probably, you may want to take a look at your office's parking space and get back to me again with your numbers. No offense meant! Well, if Tata cars are getting better, and there are happy customers like you, then it'll be good to see an increase in the number of Tata cars (not cabs!).

Well every one have their perception, however, my experience with Tata Cars (Indigo 75000 Km, Indica 42000 Km) is extremely satisfying. Rarely require maintenance!!
Unlike Maruti Suzuki (Zen 115000 Km, 800cc 60000 Esteem, Gypsy and Van) Tata Cars never gave a back ache, always silent no bearing, switch, axle problems. Smooth suspension and great economy. I could never attain more than 12,5 kmpl with Maruti Cars, Tata Cars always more than 13.5 kmpl.
Still if you believe Tata Cars are no good, god bless you.

I thought TATA would've improved after their association with Fiat. I think they are designed keeping the Indian customer in mind..
