Dilli 6 – refreshingly fresh tunes from A R Rahman

I’m lost!

The very first song Masakalli, sung by Mohit Chouhan (Silk Route fame) makes you hit the repeat button again and again. This is not the only song in the album Dilli 6 that is repeatable. There are 10 songs, and 9 of them are excellent. One song (I wouldn’t call it a song) recited by Amitabh Bachan does not fall under the listenable category, so forget it.

This is Rahman at his best. My favorites, apart from Masakalli, are Arziyan, Dilli 6, Dil Gira Dafatan (you will love the strings and the tempo build up), Hey Kaala Bandar, Genda Phool and Bhor Bhayi.

As always, ‘m lost in the grandeur of Rahman’s magic.
