Eat, sleep and breathe Twitter – what a life!

So what will be the total user count on Twitter? 5 million? 7 million? I know not. But Twitter has given the flexibility to its users to broadcast anything they do, and wanted to do – via their mobile phone, PDA, desktop and notebook.

Tweet: I’m going shopping..

Tweet: I’m gonna take a shower in 2 mins..

Tweet: LOL, I lost my pink lipstick..

Tweet: Welcome @x, @y, @z, @a, @b… thanks for following me..

Tweet: I just burrped after gulping down a pitcher of beer..burrp!..

Tweet: The girl on the left corner table likes me..she’s still ogling at me.. (dude, I think you’re losing an opportunity. Just go tweet, sorry, talk to her..)

Tweet: My left ankle is itching, ‘think some bug has buried its teeth under my skin..

Tweet: oh my, I just can’t believe he did this to me.. (he, who, what?)

Tweet: Hi!

Tweet: morning!

Tweet: I’m gonna sleep.. (OK, that’s an open ended tweet..)

Tweet: sbo.. (where you expecting some expansion of some kind for this tweet?)

Tweet: TGIF!!

Tweet: I know what you’re talking about..

Tweet: Yeah right!

Tweet: Wassup?

Tweet: I love my new cell phone.. (well, what’s the make and the model?)

Well, ‘m not offending any tweeters or the Twitter community. I’m a twitter user, and I’ve tweeted a couple of the aforementioned tweets too, when I was new to Twitter. Having said that, there’s tons and tons of useful pointers to various tips and tricks, articles, flash news, gadgets, how to articles, and so on. Twitter may present us with a lot of other opportunities too. If there’s a possibility to create groups, one can tweet about the traffic conditions at a particular locality, a nice music concert that’s gonna take place, sports meet, spotting an eminent personality at the grocery store, discovering a new restaurant/pub, etc.

Sometimes, people that can’t acknowledge a simple ‘HI!’ tweet a lot. They prefer talking to computers than with real humans. Weird, but true!

Some people protect their tweets. Some one please throw some light on why people do this. I’m not getting the big idea.. may be there’s a lot of intellectual property being tweeted?!?

Oh well, some people can post 200 tweets a day! That is about 8 tweets an hour, if they are tweeting all 24 hours. If they sleep for 8 hours (obviously, no tweets during this period) they would be doing about 12 tweets an hour. Phew! They eat, sleep and breathe Twitter!! Will they ever get bored?

Hmm… looks like more and more people are playing an ‘unreal tournament‘ that is lacking real-human connections!

Technology enables a lot of things..we ultimately take an overdose of it and disable ourselves. What do you think?

Ultimately it’s about keeping things in perspective and in their proper place. Nothing in the world can replace human interaction, but Twitter is a great way to network in ways that we can’t achieve as easily with other methods. Yeah but people that send more than say 100 tweets/day are just ridiculous.

“Ultimately it’s about keeping things in perspective and in their proper place” – yes, as I mentioned in the post, there’s a limit. Be it cell phone or PS3 or Twitter, an overdose is gonna spoil ones senses.
