Well, during tough times like ‘recession‘, salaried people like us tend to think twice before spending on food and drinks at premium bars, pubs and restaurants.
Rambha bar, tucked inside the famous Palmgrove Hotel (Chennai), provides a conservative ambiance with good quality liquor. To many non-veg lovers, this place might be a slight let down coz they serve only vegetarian dishes. It’s the first time in my life that I had beer with Palmgrove’s trademark dish ‘Rasa Vadai‘. My friends were laughing at me when they saw me order rasa vadai, but once they drenched their taste-buds with the vadai dripping with rasam – all of ‘em ordered one each!
Another thing to be appreciated is the generous amounts of complimentary dishes you get. Yesterday ’twas peanut masala, cucumber and carrots, channal masala and mysore bonda!!
Overall, a good place to hang out with friends that don’t make a fuss about the unavailability of non-veg dishes.
