Jai Ho is getting all the attention, because we can’t get some of Rahman’s other scores. My first exposure to him was Athiradee from Sivaji and when I played it at work, everyone wanted a copy! But I couldn’t get it from any source I’m familiar with (even Amazon), so I got my sister to bring me back CD’s. It’s funny how dissconnected we are from other countries – watch, once Rahman gets an Oscar we’ll be able to get all his music!

That’s interesting! I’ve a huge collection of Rahman’s music. I buy only the original CD from the music shops. Yet, I mostly visit this site http://www.rahmanism.com/ where you can get to listen to samples from his latest music/movie. Again, no pirated stuff over here..they are encoded in 60kbps mono :)

Even I’m not sure where to get legal Rahman music from the Internet. Since Rahman has won the Oscars, probably iTunes music store will publish a huge collection for you to purchase. It’s high time Rahman appoints some good PR guys..

great to see that the song is being applauded in the west. If you’d like to hear onto Rahman’s other greater compositions then try listening to the songs of the movie “Bombay”, it consists one of the best ever music done by the maestro. :-)

Yep, you are right! Also listen to ‘Bose, the Forgotten Hero’. There is one Afghani tune and a Bengali one..and a German tune too, simply superb variety of music in just a single CD.
