Well…the buzzword these days is social networking. If you are not on Facebook or Twitter you are really not in with the times. What however is interesting to me is the way such activities are redefining relationships and friendships.

In earlier times, you met a person, you talked, you met again, you talked and then slowly you would decide whether this person shared your wavelength or not. You took your time in deciding whether you would share something in common with this person. Slowly you would build an understanding, and take the relationship to a level to which you felt comfortable. You were able to see the person in flesh and blood. You were able to trust your five senses to judge and assess the other person’s reactions or their body language. You heard their voice and saw their face and well…it was a person to person engagement.

Picturesque Azhiyar – Pollachi, Coimbatore

Azhiyar Dam, Pollachi

Azhiyar (or Aliyar) – a destination I never came across until my maiden visit in 2007. Not sure if many people in Tamil Nadu are aware of this beautiful place, near Coimbatore, surrounded by green-carpet hills caressing the clouds.

A few pics from this heaven..

It was 7 years old then, and I could see a lot of cracks running along the walls, the bathroom ceiling marked with seepage water-marks, not-so-good wall plastering, and..phew…a lot of other woes. Well, this is not an exceptional case; nowadays, most owners of flats complain of such things. Considering the real estate prices in South India, these builders ought to be giving the best in terms of quality and architecture. But the reality in realty is disgusting – just plain greed and lack of architects and workers with passion.

Fort Collins to Horsetooth Reservoir – Colorado

Fort Collins to Horsetooth - click to enlarge

I was cleaning up the pictures folder when I stumbled upon these photos. Hmm, it’s been two full years since I clicked these pics on the way to the Horsetooth Reservoir from Fort Collins, Colorado. After crawling through the unruly maze in T.Nagar, there’s hardly anyone wouldn’t wish for a calm, neat road, winding up the hill, with no traffic at all. Pipe dreams, huh!? Now, I can only travel back in time…
