Themed pic of the day – Society, travel

I’m a shutterbug !!

Starting today, I will be posting a picture from one of the photo-sharing websites, and write a few words about why I like in the picture.

I will try to associate the pic to the following themes:

• Society – the people, city, culture, etc
• Technology – ranging from the oldest to the newest, disruptive, gawky, funny, disruptive, and so on
• Lifestyle – moral standards, economic development, attitude, taste, richness, etc
• Travel – I’m a wanderlust!! Anything and everything related to cities, scenery, nature, infrastructure, castles, rivers, lakes, oceans, and so on
• Environment – e-waste, green house gases, hybrid cars, green technologies, etc
• Politics – I know this can be dirty, but will try to comment on a clean picture!
• Space – the deep, dark and the mysterious. We will be there, one fine day!!

So, here goes the first one..

I took this picture when I visited Prague (Praha). It was a busy day at Prague, and it was unusually alternating between cloudy and sunny weather patterns. I like this picture because no one really seem to pose when I fired my camera. Everyone is lost in their own world! This would’ve been a better shot, but for the van that seems a bit out of sync with the pic. The lighting was soft and perfect for this shot as it was sunny behind me, and cloudy in the area of focus.

Prague was once the cultural capital of Europe. I think it is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and one can see the perfect mixture of ancient and modern architectures of the city. Whenever I see the climax sequence in the movie XXX (starring Vin Diesel), I get a strong urge to visit the city one more time.. and when that day comes, I will take a picture of the same place from the same spot and post it over here!! I believe that I need not have to title that post as ‘Prague – now and then‘, as this ancient city will remain the same in both the snapshots – as charming as ever.
