God never made the rules

God never made the rules, we did..

By Srividyanaren on May 20, 2010

This is a true incident that happened about three decades ago.. The afternoon sun was having a field day, gleaming with a fiery smile all along the roads of Madurai.. “Damn this scorching heat, am not able to peacefully enjoy my pilgrimage trip”, thought Ramachandran as the walked down the street towards the famous Meenakshi [...]

Why is life unfair, most of the time?

Why is life unfair, most of the time?

By Naren Ubi on September 15, 2009

Yes, it’s a very common question that everyone asks themselves; at least at some point in life. A couple of months ago, I met some of my friends after quite a long time, and we were discussing all the earthly things – about money and jobs, and wives and girl friends. There was certainly something [...]

How to tolerate PAIN?

How to tolerate PAIN?

By Naren Ubi on July 13, 2009

Well, if there had been a definite solution on tolerating pain, the thought of God may become secondary in our minds. Ain’t that true? Most people think of God only when they need Him; only when they are in trouble, or want something to turn up in their favor. Otherwise, God is just God – [...]

A question to all atheists and theists..

By Naren Ubi on December 17, 2008

To all theists: Do you always think about God? Or, is it only during times you need Him the most? To all atheists: Can you name one instance in life when you just felt that there may be some supernatural power or phenomenon called God? I think that the answers to the aforementioned questions are [...]

Ghost adventures – this is freaking good!

By Paska on December 13, 2008

Right now, ‘m watching Ghost Adventures on AXN, and ‘m getting goose bumps on seeing certain footage shot on amateur infrared cameras. I don’t know if these apparitions are true or just made up for the sake of scaring people via the television. Whatever it is, the video clippings are freaking good. The ghost footage [...]

Is atheism related to negative thinking?

By Naren Ubi on September 19, 2008

So much hate… Whenever I see bomb blasts and terror attacks, and eventually when these attacks are linked to a religion, I always wanted to write something about this. World over, atheists are related to being either the communists or negative thinkers. I pity those ignorant, though educated, souls that cannot do a simple reasoning of who is who or what is what. Communism was written, since the days of Plato, to scientifically manage the society. Communism may have failed in many ways (people always talk about the Russian failure, but they seldom comment on the success of China..

As the mind thinketh – an informal survey

As the mind thinketh – an informal survey

By Naren Ubi on September 9, 2008

It was a nice saturday morning, 6:26 AM. I was staring at the deep orange eastern sky sipping a cup of hot coffee…lost in a train of thoughts. I’m aware of the chirping of the birds, and an occasional flap of the wings of birds flying hither and thither silhouetted against the orange sky. ‘I wish I were a bird’ – that was the first thought that came to my mind when I envied at their happy life, not needing to worry about salary, escalating costs due to inflation, saving money, investing in real estate (or rather protecting it from the cluthes of the tax department), paying for my car and educational loans, and so on..
