SuperOSR v2.0.0 – Gingerbread ROM for Motorola XT502 [Commtiva Z71]

Android generic logo

The Superteam has just released their version of the Android 2.3.5 ROM, codenamed SuperOSR v2.0.0 [updated to v2.0.1, see below], for Motorola XT502 (and other Boston clones/Commtiva Z71 devices). I don’t have any screenshots at the moment; believe it should be similar to the SuperAOSP 8.6 AW or the base CyanogenMod nightly version.

  1. Hi,
    Which app you use, for backup and restore? Coz everytime i flash, its difficult to install all apps again. I have install more then 20+ apps and games. Can u suggest please. I use appmonster, but not happy, as batch install is like manual install only, no auto install.

    • Use Titanium Backup. It works 95% of the time 🙂

      I am using Titanium Backup and I have got 80 apps. For backup, it’s simple and fast. But for restore, you have to do installation one by one. I make this only if I am sure that I will keep my Rom for minimum 2 weeks 😉
      There is no app that can install automatically apps.
      It will be dangerous if some apps could install other dangerous apps and you don’t see it.
      So Android has block this. You have always to do manual installation.

      • Hi,
        How can some app install other dangerous apps??? It should restore – install, which i have done backup of.

        • Georges Bergossi

          I think that the paid version of Titanium Backup restore/install apps automatically. I will try this now.
          I don’t know if there is a free backup/restore app that can do that.

          Yeah but if you install a new rom and make a full wipe, it’s like you never install apps.

          If you install an internet apk apps on your phone, you can not know if it’s the real app or a modified one that can download something on your android.
          But if it’s an android market app, there is no problem.

            I am using My Backup Root for installing applications near 80-100Nos. backed up while changing ROM. Its free also.

    Is this rom the  evolution of  SuperAOSP 8.6 AW ?
    So, it should be great ! I will test it.

    • Georges Bergossi

      They change a little the menu and the theme but it is similar to SuperAOSP 8.6 AW.
      No bugs, I have install all my 80 apps, fluid : excellent.
      I think I will not install again CM7.

      Quadrant score :
      SuperOSR v2.0.0 -> 1194 (no download  apps installed yet)

      – SuperAOSP 8.6 AW -> 911
      (90 apps)
      – CyanogenMod 7 Nightly 173 -> 926
      (100 apps)(SuperAOSP 8.6 Kernel & Fix)

      • I’m not surprised! CML/Superteam has always given us the best of CyanogenMod 🙂

        Do you have some screenshots? I can update my blog post with them, crediting you (link to your blog/twitter/facebook). Also, can you throw some light on how you installed all your 80 apps? Did you use Titanium backup?

        Thanks in advance!

        On Boston-mania it was mentioned that you need to partition SD card and have no “swap” partition. Have you tried that? I have re-partitioned my SD card with no swap (backup data :)).

    please help..NO NETWORK & NO IMEI after installing it on cm7 build 173…m stuck.

  4. This mod is only an incremental step up from previous builds, but it IS a step up! So far, no crashes–I had contented myself to about a force restart a day on the SuperAOSP 8.6, and this hasn’t crashed at all.

    The WiFi is a lot better too, almost instantaneous connection, no fiddling required.

    I didn’t notice much in the way of speed improvement, or even in appearance. I like it and really appreciate those who work on these projects for everyone’s benefit!
